It can reduce redness and discoloration, soften and flatten new and older hypertrophic and keloid scars resulting from surgical procedures, injuries and burns. The SPF is designed to be effective while also maintaining Silishield’s silky-smooth feel and clear appearance.

Is Biocorneum easy to use?

Yes. BIOCORNEUM feels silky smooth, is simple to apply and dries rapidly. The protective shield it forms is flexible, so it moves like a second skin. It is breathable and nearly weightless, so it’s comfortable, even under clothing. It is self-adhering, so you don’t have to worry about it peeling off or having to tape it on. How long should I use Biocorneum to get the best results?

For maximum effectiveness, use BIOCORNEUM consistently for the duration of treatment your physician advises. Recommended minimum

treatment time:

  • new scars: 60 days
  • older scars: 90 days

How do I apply Biocorneum?

  • Ensure that the affected area is clean and dry.
  • Apply a very thin, even layer two times a day (morning and evening) over the scar area.
  • BIOCORNEUM is quick-drying. Allow to dry completely.
  • Once dry, BIOCORNEUM can be covered with pressure garments, clothing or cosmetics.
  • If the affected area is subject to abrasion, it may be beneficial to repeat the application midday.
  • Wait 15 minutes before sun exposure.

For maximum effectiveness, BIOCORNEUM should have 24-hour contact with the scar area for the duration of the treatment
