BioCorneum scar gel
The scar treatment we send home after surgery. A silicone gel with SPF 30, used on healing incisions and on scars that have already formed.
Why we carry it
Silicone, plus the sunscreen most scar gels leave out.
Silicone gel is the most established over-the-counter approach to scar management. What makes this one useful in Florida is the SPF 30 built in: a new scar that gets sun will darken, and that pigment can be permanent.

When do I start using it?

How long do I keep going?
Twice daily for several months. A scar keeps remodelling for up to a year, and consistency matters more than any product does.
Why does a scar gel need SPF?
A new scar that gets sun will darken, and that pigment can be permanent. In Florida that is the most common reason a scar ends up more visible than it needed to be.
Will it get rid of the scar?
No. Nothing removes a scar. Silicone gel can make one flatter, softer and less red than it would otherwise have been.
